Palm Sunday 2026
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, on the occasion of Dzağgazart (Palm Sunday), a Holy Liturgy and the Tırnpatsek (Opening of the Doors Ceremony) were celebrated at the Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Armenian Catholic Church under the presidency of His Reverence Kerabaydzar Der Vartan Kirakos Kazancıyan.
Following the liturgy, which was attended by a large congregation, olive branches were blessed and distributed. The Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem was commemorated with a procession in which children participated holding olive branches.
In his sermon, His Reverence Kerabaydzar Der Vartan conveyed messages of peace, brotherhood, and joy to the congregation, emphasizing that olive branches symbolize peace. He called upon the faithful to pray for peace in our personal lives and in the world.
At the Holy Altar served Archpriest Hayr Apraham Vartabed Fırat, Der Hagop Avaksargavak Minasyan, Jan Gsrg Acemoğlu, Levon Gsrg Yunkes, and acolytes Can Yontan, Çetin Öğmen, Norayr Özant, Murat Semerciyan; the Vosgeperan Choir, conducted by Antony Celal and Chief Zaven Ağay, also contributed to the service.
